On Drip, the cart and offer systems are connected, but they serve different purposes. The cart is used for items you want to purchase directly, while the offer system is used for items you want to negotiate on. When you move an item from your cart into an offer, it will no longer remain in the cart. Instead, it is tracked under My Offers, where you can follow its status.
How Items Move Between Cart and Offers
Starting from the cart: When you add an item to your cart, it stays there until you either checkout or decide to make an offer.
Switching to an offer: If you click Make Offer on an item in your cart, it will immediately move out of the cart and into your Offers page. This prevents confusion between items ready for direct checkout and items still under negotiation.
Tracking offers: Once an item is in the Offers page, you will no longer see it in the cart. You can monitor the seller’s response and complete checkout from there if the offer is accepted.
What Happens After an Offer is Resolved
If your offer is accepted: The item will remain in the Offers page and can be checked out at the price the seller agreed to.
If your offer is declined: The item will stay in the Offers page. You can choose to make a new offer, or if you still want to purchase it at full price, you’ll need to add it back to your cart from the listing.
If your offer expires: The item does not return automatically to your cart. It stays in the Offers page, and you must decide whether to submit another offer or buy it at the listed price.
Important Things to Know
Offers do not reserve items. Even if you make an offer, another buyer can still checkout at full price before your offer is accepted.
Cart and offers are separate. Items cannot appear in both places at the same time—once an item is made into an offer, it leaves the cart.
Managing both systems. Use your cart to organize purchases you want to complete immediately, and use the Offers page to manage items you are negotiating for.
