Drip Clips enable sellers to showcase their products using short video content. With Clips, sellers can create engaging product listings that allow buyers to purchase, bid, or enter giveaways—all without going live.

This article covers how to add a video clip to a product listing and set it up as a giveaway. It includes step-by-step guidance to ensure your product is correctly listed, active, and available for buyers to interact with on the Drip platform.

What Are Drip Clips?

Drip Clips are short video uploads that appear directly in the app, offering a dynamic way for buyers to discover products. These clips allow sellers to provide visual demonstrations or overviews of their items in under 90 seconds.

Key features of Drip Clips:

  • Sellers can upload videos to listings without needing to go live.

  • Buyers can purchase items, bid in auctions, or enter giveaways through the clip.

  • Listings can be configured for either instream (live) or offstream (available anytime) visibility.

  • Drip Clips increase engagement by providing a richer product experience.

Use Cases for Clips

Drip Clips can be used with any of the following listing types:

  • Buy Now: A fixed price sale.

  • Auction: Buyers can place bids; the highest bidder wins.

  • Giveaway: Buyers enter to win the product for free, according to your rules.

This guide focuses on adding Clips to Giveaway listings but the process is the same for all listing types with only minor differences in setup.

Step-by-Step: Adding a Clip to a Listing / Giveaways

Follow the steps below to upload a clip and create your listing:

1. Go to the Seller Hub

  • Log in to your Drip account.

  • Navigate to the Seller Hub.

  • Go to the Listings section.

2. Start a New Product Listing

  • Click Add Product or Add Product with AI.

3. Choose a Listing Type

  • Select Giveaway

  • You can also choose Auction or Buy Now based on your sales strategy.

4. Upload Your Clip

  • Tap Add Video Clip in the image upload section.

  • Upload a video that is 90 seconds or shorter.

  • Make sure the clip clearly shows the product and its features.

Important: You must upload a clip to use the Drip Clips format.

5. Fill in Product Details

  • Product Value: Enter the estimated retail value of the item.

  • Quantity: Set the number of items included in the giveaway.

  • Cost per Item: Leave this blank or enter zero for a giveaway.

6. Choose Visibility Settings

  • Toggle Make Product Active to "on" when you're ready to publish.

  • Choose between:

    • Instream: Item is available during a livestream.

    • Offstream: Item is available anytime, even when you're not live.

Note: Offstream is recommended for giveaways, as it does not require a live session.

7. Add Listing Metadata

  • Category and Subcategory: Select from the dropdown to help buyers discover your listing.

  • Tags: Add descriptive keywords to improve searchability.

  • Product Name: Provide a clear, concise name for your product.

Optional:

  • Generate Product Details with Drip: Toggle this on if you'd like the platform to auto-generate a description based on your uploaded image and selected category.

8. Configure Shipping

  • Weight: Choose the appropriate range for the item (e.g., 1–2 lbs).

  • Shipping Cost: Select whether the buyer pays shipping or it’s covered by you.

  • Store Pickup: Enable if local buyers can collect the item.

  • International Shipping: Enable if you want to allow buyers outside your country to participate.

Final Step: Save and Publish

  • Click Save at the bottom of the form.

  • Your listing will now appear in the Drip Clips section of the app.

Once live, buyers can view the clip, read product information, and either purchase, bid, or enter your giveaway depending on the listing type selected.

Additional Notes - Entry Methods for Giveaways

When setting up a giveaway listing on Drip, you can choose how participants earn entries. These are called entry methods, and they determine the actions users must take to participate.

Giveaways support multi-entry, meaning you can enable multiple actions that each grant a different number of entries. However, the specific options available—and how they are displayed to users—may vary based on whether the listing includes a video clip or is set up offline (no video).

Configurable Entry Methods

From the giveaway setup screen, sellers can manually toggle the following options:

  • Purchase Instant Packs – Worth 10 entries

  • Like – Worth 1 entry

  • Comment – Worth 1 entry

  • Share – Worth 15 entries

At least one entry method must be enabled for the giveaway to be active.

Video vs. Offline Giveaway Behavior

Giveaways with a video clip (Drip Clips):

  • Sellers can configure the entry methods listed above.

  • Additional platform-driven entry types may also be applied automatically, even if they aren’t shown in the setup UI.

These are designed to increase engagement for listings that include video and may appear dynamically based on how the listing is set up.

Offline giveaways (no video):

  • Multi-entry is still supported. You can enable Purchase, Like, Comment, and Share.

  • Compared to video listings, there are fewer total entry options available.

  • Drip may automatically apply default entry actions. These defaults are not visible in the setup interface but may still appear in the buyer-facing experience

Offline giveaways support multi-entry, allowing sellers to enable actions like Purchase, Like, Comment, and Share. However, without a video, some advanced entry types will not apply. It is important to note that Drip may apply system-default actions (such as Signup or App Download) which are not shown in the setup interface, unless you configure the giveaway to allow only Purchase entries.

Tips & Recommendations

  • To maximize entry options and engagement, upload a short video clip with your giveaway listing.

  • If you want full control over which actions grant entries, review the toggles carefully and consider enabling or disabling system defaults through the Purchase Pack option.

  • Drip Clips cannot exceed 90 seconds in length.

  • You can upload up to five media assets per listing, but at least one must be a video to appear in the Drip Clips section.

  • All active listings should have accurate weight and shipping information to ensure correct shipping fee calculations.

  • Always ensure your item is toggled “active” before saving if you want it to go live immediately.
